Hi and thank you for looking at our page. Rachel and I look forward to sharing our adventures with you.
For the past 33 years we have shared our passion for the outdoors. I found out really quick that my girl can camp. Luckily it’s something both our families enjoyed growing up.
Of course we started out like most do, in a tent. When our baby girl, Arial, got a little older we bought a 5 person Coleman dome tent that lasted us many years. My girls loved the tent camping so we did that for 15 years.
Then I found a great Jayco pop-up trailer. Screens and canvas were all in perfect shape till the bear tore it up, but that’s a different story. We were so lucky to get it for $900. Still just a big tent we enjoyed that trailer much more than we thought. We had it several years and still made our money back when I sold it to buy one of my dad’s trailers.
Next up was the Forest River Grey Wolf hybrid. A 16’ foot trailer with hard sides and canvas beds out the ends. Arial was out of the house by then and this trailer was great for the two of us. This one had a bathroom, shower, fridge which was great. We could get this single axle trailer in some great remote spots and really enjoying some trailer benefits at this point. But again, we used this trailer for several years but we’re starting to outgrow it. We camp with a lot of friends and there was no room for them to come hang in with us. Not a bad thing, lol, but is was time to upgrade again. I sold it in one day. That left us without anything to go camping in. Not a good feeling.
We looked at a lot of trailers till my wife Rachel found the perfect one. Last year we bought a beautiful 22’ Keystone Passport. It’s got a great floor plan which got Rachel hooked. The power hitch and stabilizer jacks got me hooked. No more cranking! We are excited to share everywhere we took it in its first year. I can’t take it in some of the primitive spots we’ve been going to but it still can get in to some really good spots. We like this trailer and it could be the one we stick with. It was a blast getting to where we are now. On to our next adventure!
Happy Trails,
Chris
I’m Rachel - born & raised in Amarillo, TX. I’ve always had a love for the outdoors, traveling, healthy living & technology.
My enthusiasm for the outdoors started when I was little camping with my family. We visited several National & State Parks when I was young also, with several wonderful memories!
Chris & I have been many places during our 33 years of marriage & have no plans of stopping! We kept the camping adventure alive with our daughter, Arial. We are so fortunate Arial & Austin love to camp also!
Hiking is high on our activities list. We scope out & investigate fun & unique areas to explore. We have hiked several of the Colorado 14ers, seen some neat caves & waterfalls.
We want to share these experiences with all of you! We want to answer any questions you may have (where to stay, tech gadgets, hiking gear, Iron Maiden, Yoga - anything!)
Hopefully this journal will encourage people to travel more, move your body & enjoy this magnificent world!
